From a referral process, clients are supported by a team of trained befrienders in a weekend stay at the House.
A referral must come from a trained professional, eg, social worker, councilor, doctor, psychiatrist, school teacher/guidance councilor. If you are unsure if you can be referred to us, please give Garrett a call to discuss on 0438 816 367.
Referral Agents will need to complete a referral form in order to refer to us. A referral form is available for download via this page (link below), alternatively if you need a referral form please contact us and we shall send it ASAP. When referring to us it is vital that you call to confirm availability in the House (as we may already have a client). On receipt of the referral plan Garrett will be in contact with referral agent to discuss the House and client’s needs.
To minimise risk to our befrienders we cannot accept clients who have substance abuse issues or cannot administer their own medication.
On arrival to the House, the client will need to sign a contract covering the guidelines of the visit. Clients and Referral Agents will be given the location of the House during their discussions. We do not allow visitors over the weekend, and the understanding is that the location be kept confidential.
Mobile phones, medication and any sharp objects are locked in a secure cabinet during the client’s stay. Clients are referred to us under their own free will and we accept repeat referrals as we know clients love to come back for another stay.
Time Out relies on donations from the community and businesses to run our service, as such our Executive Officer works casually. Please keep this in mind when contacting us any message left will be answered within 24 hours.
